“Love means never having to say you’re sorry”
Yeah right!! Like we never say it? Or don’t want to hear it when we’re broken? Or does it mean that it’s okay when we don’t say it?! I can’t seem to comprehend!! On a scale of 1 to 10, how true is this statement? WOW! How many times have I said sorry.. To God.. To my folks.. To the world.. And most importantly so sorry FOR those who didn’t want to see the truth naked.. They’ve always roamed around it, trying not to see it.. But that's not our topic here.. It's about saying sorry to someone.. Not about being sorry for them.. So how many of you don’t mind people NOT saying sorry to them? Raise your hands.. See, I see no hands..
Okay, let's take a second look..
“Love means never having to say you’re sorry”
Don't tell me it means not harming someone in the first place; 'cuz you love them? No way? Is that what it's all about? How come? It can't be!! Wish it can though.. Can it? However I’d like to say SORRY to all living & non-living things out there that I’ve caused any harm to.. I’m so sorry.. Please forgive me.. Pardon me.. If you don’t, things are gonna get really hard on me later..
Love & respect,
From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day when nobody died
And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along
And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be
~Lyrics for Nickelback song~
PS. Regarding 'the day' where 'nobody would die'.. I believe that it once existed.. I mean eventually we all die physically, but there was a time where almost everyone had something nice to leave behind.. But today, they all die when they die..

Not Anything?

He said:
“I'm not sure that I could do anything, but I do know that I wouldn't sit back and regret not trying.”

Well, it touched me.. Big time (something like 200 hours or so.. :) Well this is what we say when we say ‘big time’.. any number of hours.. LOL ).. No really.. It reminded me of what I always say.. But at times don’t do.. Why? Maybe ‘cuz of some stupid traditions that aren’t connected to Allah’s commandments whatsoever!! Hey, listen, you gotta do what you gotta do.. As long as you’re soul is still given to you, then you can still try.. Until you do it(thing) before you die or die trying to.. Don’t you dare telling me there’s nothing left to do.. There is always a way.. Don’t let them stupid norms stop you.. As long as you’re pleasing Allah by doing it, then so be it.. Allah gives you whatever you want but in the way He desires, and at the time he wishes for.. IT’S YOUR CALL..
Who cares about people.. Those very same people won’t give a damn if you fall.. I met one of those people yesterday.. “Walaikum salam.. So, how we doing today - - - umm, what’s your name again? Oh sara.. I see I see.. well, so how old are you? Oh great great.. So where did you study? Oh wow, American university.. Way to go way to go.. So......” And so goes the ignorance.. From generation to another.. Weighing up people according to their ‘materialistic achievements’.. You too do it.. Don’t tell me you don’t.. And praise the Lord, I don’t.. I swear I don’t.. Not because I’m ‘great’, or so clued-up.. Basically it’s because I was fortunate enough to come from a very very mixed society.. Everybody was different from everybody.. Different languages, norms, religions and so forth.. So generalizing was never applicable.. You respect everybody ‘cuz of their being.. You’ve got nothing to lose.. And even if you have something to lose, It will be given back to you.. Even much better.. And that is in CASE IT WAS FOR & WHILE PLEASING HIM.. YOUR CREATOR.. You’ve got your brain.. Your health.. Oh God.. This guy.. OHHHHH.. Just like any of us, He had two eyes.. I don’t really know what happened.. But he lost them.. And as he’s broke; he’s thinking of selling his kidney for getting one cornea!! We’re so blessed people..

So are we okay with trying? With: “I'm not sure that I could do anything, but I do know that I wouldn't sit back and regret not trying.” ?? Not
only do I want us to be cool with it, but rather do it.. So have we got ourselves a deal?? If so, then we gotta move on to the next important point.. And that would be waiting..
"PATIENCE" (I released that patience isn’t having to wait.. It's when you have more than one option (other than waiting) and you choose to wait..) Let me put my words into action.. It’s like parking your car.. You drive & then you see a free space that isn’t for parking, & then you park over there.. If you’d have had a little more patience and drove along for a while, with the intention of being fair to others’ rights, maybe Allah would have granted you a better, more spacious place.. You think to yourself, “but it’s close by, police won’t come checking on ME TODAY!!” Well, it’s not police.. It’s The One Watching you.. Have mercy on others; so that Allah would have mercy on you.. Be fair in your choices & DO IT RIGHT & see how great things will turn out to be.. It's not that I'm promising you anything.. It's at least: “I do know that I wouldn't sit back and regret not trying.” Don't lose grip.. And don't fall for "first thought is the right one"..
PS. Ms Grey, I know I'm 4 days older than you, but egyptians say, if a person is a day older than you, then they know a year ahead of you.. ;) & you can do the math ; P

(_) Hollowed out (_)

Good old days.. Days were days.. Nights were nights.. Men were men.. Women were women.. Kids were kids.. Right was right.. Wrong was wrong.. Shame was shame.. Joy was joy.. Grief was grief.. Love was love.. Nature was merely touched.. But rather celebrated.. Fear was there.. But fear of God was the root of all fears.. I’m not saying it was perfect; for nothing was or will ever be perfect in this world.. But at least things were as they seemed to be.. Most of them.. Strangers were known as strangers.. And family was family.. Teachers were teaching.. Students were learning.. Respect was respect.. Food would finish by the end of each day & every new day would bring it’s new goodness along.. They would take their own wastes, and recycle them.. They were humbled by the fact that they ARE weak.. They ARE in need.. They’re human.. They need food; so they make it.. They need shelter; so they strive.. STRIVING.. What a lost word!! No one wants it.. But WANTING is always there!! Work was work.. Sweating was sweating.. They’d harvest the fruits of their strive.. And that was sweet.. So SWEET!! Sharing.. Sharing was between homes & in every home.. People were ready to lend their hands with all their might.. And at any time..
In our time.. Days are wasted.. And nights are upside down.. Men are no longer standing, they’re hiding in the shadows & women are all over the place with their lost identity.. Kids lost their innocence.. Chastity is lost in the woods, with the animals, where they still cling to their instincts.. Have you ever seen an animal giving it’s body for food?! DEFINITELY not.. Happiness doesn’t last for longer than moments.. Sadness doesn’t neither.. Integrity.. “It depends; not always; it can’t be”!! Yes it can!! Why can’t it?! Sarcasm took it’s place.. Maybe that’s why.. Sarcasm, hate and a little more hate.. Gifts have become so materialistic.. The essence of things has transformed from their within to their outer shell.. People wait to see others fall.. Listening is according to the moods now.. Giving.. “oh, what did you say? why? Is there gain? To whom? Why again? No no no, don’t trust nobody..”.. Our relationships aren’t blessed no more.. Our hours pass so fast.. Our foreheads need to be stretched from all the wrinkling & worries.. Worries that came from our very own greediness.. We even try not to feel for others, thinking it’ll make us lighter.. I see the world hollowed out.. Aha, exactly.. HOLLOWED OUT.. I hear the world hollowed out.. Yeah, I do see the lights, the crowds, the egos, the crashes.. I hear the noises, my eardrums are on their way to explosion.. But still.. The world is emptied from all that was supposed to be there.. Soon earth will rotate in the opposite direction.. Very soon the sun will rise from the west & the leaves will turn to ashes.. The oceans will turn black.. Pitch black..

Soil has become impure,
water is no more clear, air is grubby & light is fake already..

Reality Check:
They took all the trees, and put em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
No, no, no, don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got till it's gone
--Big Yellow Taxi lyrics--

If tomorrow never comes, I’ll be relieved by letting all this out; as there’s nothing more I can do!! However I hope tomorrow would be healthier than today.. Hope everyone can clean their rusty inside & try to find the real them.. The sweet them.. And soften the bitter them..

People, we need to see to see.. Yes.. we gotta see to see..

Say, "Shall I tell you who the worst losers are?
"They are the ones whose works in this life are totally astray, but they think that they are doing good." Such are the ones who disbelieved in the revelations of their Lord and in meeting Him. Therefore, their works are in vain; on the Day of Resurrection, they have no weight. Their just requital is Hell, in return for their disbelief, and for mocking My revelations and My messengers. As for those who believe and lead a righteous life, they have deserved a blissful Paradise as their abode. Forever they abide therein; they will never want any other substitute. Say, "If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out, even if we double the ink supply." Say, "I am no more than a human like you, being inspired that your god is one god. Those who hope to meet their Lord shall work righteousness, and never worship any other god beside his Lord."
Qur’an [18: 103-110]

That's Allah -- By Sadia Marium

Bibi Jaan

“O Allah , forgive and have mercy upon her, excuse her and pardon her, and make honourable her reception. Expand her entry, and cleanse her with water, snow and hail, and purify her of sin as a white robe is purified of filth. Exchange her home for a better home, and her family for a better family, and her spouse for a better spouse. Admit her into the Garden, protect her from the punishment and the grave and the torment of the fire.”

Surat Al-Qiyamah (The Resurrection)

By Allah, listening to surat Al-Qiyamah by Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Jibreen does something to my soul!! To listen to it recited by him, you can go to this page.. It's surah number 75.. And hey, why don't you try to memorize it? You do know that by every ayah you memorize you ascend.. Right? You can add it to your mp3 player.. By the way, the prophet's companions may Allah be pleased with them, would memorize the ayah, while making sure they'll live it.. Practise it..
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“The heart that has no Qur’an in it is like an abandoned ruined dwelling.”
The Prophet (sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:
"The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.''

She said:
"you know i was just talking with my little bro few days back and i had just realized something..........The statement that everyone "Life is too short" is actually true just think about it. Were sent down to pass the tests tht are through in fromt of use and we can actualy and truly conquer them from the purity of our heart, which is to be a good muslim.. take me for example as you know , i used to say and still say that i will start wearing a scarf soon inshallah......since i think the 2nd year of uni.... and just image how many years have passed already around 2 now did I start wearing scarf NO!! i just wasted two years of my life... so my point is that ppl should realise their mistakes and start improving themselves......coz its sure as hell does take just couple of days....:D so what do you think?!?!?"

Well, I think what you think.. You got it sweety.. life is waaaaaay too short.. But not short to the limit that it can break us.. We all have a chance.. Not one, but more.. You said it yourself.. Two years or more.. Right?! The problem is us..
US.. This is the reality of our being:

"When adversity touches the human being, he implores us while lying down, or sitting, or standing up. But as soon as we relieve his adversity, he goes on as if he never implored us to relieve any hardship! The works of the transgressors are thus adorned in their eyes."
Qur'an [10:12]

"And He gives you all kinds of things that you implore Him for. If you count GOD's blessings, you can never encompass them. Indeed, the human being is transgressing, unappreciative."
Qur'an [14:34]

"Proclaim, "If you possessed my Lord's treasures of mercy, you would have withheld them, fearing that you might exhaust them. The human being is stingy.""
Qur'an [17:100]

"We have cited in this Quran every kind of example, but the human being is the most argumentative creature."
Qur'an [18:54]

"The human being is impatient by nature. I will inevitably show you My signs; do not be in such a hurry."
Qur'an [21:37]

"We created the human, and we know what he whispers to himself. We are closer to him than his jugular vein."
Qur'an [50:16]

Contain me..

There is this Arabic proverb that goes like:
“One can’t give what they don’t have”
Well, according to my understanding to this proverb, I think it’s untrue.. Simply because I obtained a lot of different things from people who didn’t have these things.. And sometimes didn’t even intentionally want to give them (things) to me..
For instance, I learned how NOT to be nosey cu’z of people who were waaaaaaaay too nosey.. I, by observing them, saw how bad it is for one’s self and for others to be nosey.. And so forth..

Daddy for instance, gave me something he didn’t have.. And intentionally.. The English language.. Baba isn’t that fluent in English.. But ever since I was little, he taught me English.. Not by sending me to English schools only, but by teaching me English.. Now you’ll tell me so this goes with the proverb; he had to learn it and HAVE it to give it to you! Well, no!! That didn’t happen.. In the fourth grade for example, he took my social studies book, and translated all the complex words (not memorized them, but translated them using a dictionary, flipping through it's pages for days) and sat with me on the dining table & made sure that I understood & memorized them all.. When I use the word ‘different’, I remember dad.. the word ‘tide’.. You know what I'm talking about? Like how some smells remind you of things.. Words.. they take me back.. Right now, my eyes are heating up, and tears are coming on the way.. Breathe.. Breathe.. Aahhh!! Bien.. Okay.. Baba.. I really miss him.. InshaAllah he’d come back safely.. My sister sent him a message yesterday saying: “The house with no baba, is like a cell without a cell wall..”.. My heart twinges.. How on earth am I going give him thanks?! Not anything on this earth is worth anything baba did.. And still does.. If I bring him the whole world, it won’t mean anything.. What he does is priceless.. Who’s ever going to take care of me the way he and mama do?!?!?!?! I always wonder!! I remember how he taught me how to ride my red bike.. I remember how he’d hold the seat from the back to make me feel safe.. He'd touch me every now & then & run next to me.. "You can do it, you can do it ya saroor..".. With him I’m in safe hands..

I still remember back in school when kids were embarrassed of their parents.. They wouldn’t want them to come to the parents/teacher meetings; as their parents’ English was bad & it would humiliate them(kids)!!!! Or when girls wouldn’t want to go shopping with their mothers; ‘cuz they believe walking with them is a shame!!

I love you daddy :)
I love you mama :)
I love you to the point that it aches from inside..
May Allah bless me with your presence until my last breath.. Amen.
" We enjoined the human being to honor his parents. His mother bore him arduously, gave birth to him arduously, and took intimate care of him for thirty months. When he reaches maturity, and reaches the age of forty, he should say, "My Lord, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do the righteous works that please You. Let my children be righteous as well. I have repented to You; I am a submitter." "
Qur'an [46:15]

H a r d times..

Hard times may come to you; you live your life with this simple truth.
Trying to avoid that is really no use, Allah owns me and He owns you.
God brings those trials that come to you, and also blessings just as true.
In this life you know we are passing through this world until we end
And the fruits of all your labors for this life may never reach you.
Seek the reward of Heaven. Subhanallah.
Though all shall pass we know not when from fleeting life to sudden end
The pious ones strive with patience, when all life's pleasures slip away
And for you who achieve this Allah would ease your death for you.
Ask your Lord to help you. Subhanallah.
The pious ones who live with strife, God brings relief in death and life.
Your life will pass as if a moment, in your late years what will you say.
Work while you can, be sincere, and may Allah forgive you.
Follow Islam and you won't lose. Subhanallah.
The people shall deserve it well to dwell in Paradise or Hell.
Work while you can. Be sincere, and may Allah protect you.
Follow Islam and you won't lose.
From brother Irfan Paderwala to all brothers & sisters out there.. May Allah reward him & comfort him & us all in Allah's blessings.. Amen.

"Opening the eyes of the spirit takes a certain courage and a moment of decision...The moment of realization that maybe it is all real is where submission to God begins. It is not the end of the story by any means, but only the beginning."
--> Ruqaiyyah Wari
And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know your alive

Beyond Words

If I worship U in fear of hell, burn me in it
And if I worship U in hope of paradise, exclude me from it
But if I worship U for Your own being
Don't withhold from me Your everlasting beauty
Is it wrong? Worshiping Him for heaven, or out of fear of hell?
I do worship Allah for His Being.. But how about... Can't explain it really.. But I've heard a lot about this topic.. But still don't get it!! I worship Allah 'cuz He's my Lord.. And He's the One & Only Creator.. And I do seek tranquility in this life & the next, while knowing it's only in His Hands.. I want His ferdous.. Wanna see His face.. Wanna see the prophets (peace be upon them).. Fear hell.. Wanna reach safely..

Appendix: A supplementary or accessory part of a bodily organ or structure.
How could you? How dare you? Are you telling me that you namd it so 'cuz it's ADDITIONAL?! That God created it in vain?!

I had my appendix cut out almost two years ago.. And right before the surgery, the surgeon told me: "No worries, it's extra.." And smiled!!

"In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, there are signs for those who possess intelligence. They remember GOD while standing, sitting, and on their sides, and they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: "Our Lord, You did not create all this in vain. Be You glorified. Save us from the retribution of Hell."
Qur'an [3:190-191]
"We did not create the heaven and the earth, and everything between them, in vain. Such is the thinking of those who disbelieve. Therefore, woe to those who disbelieve; they will suffer in Hell."
Qur'an [38:27]

How is ASPS supposed to be a disorder?!
Narrated Al-Aswad:I asked 'Aisha "How is the night prayer of the Prophet?" She replied, "He used to sleep early at night, and get up in its last part to pray, and then return to his bed. When the Muadh-dhin pronounced the Adhan, he would get up. If he was in need of a bath he would take it; otherwise he would perform ablution and then go out (for the prayer)."
`Abdullah ibn Salam reported:
“When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, the people gathered around him and I was one of them. I looked at his face and understood that it was not the face of a liar. The first words I heard him say were: ‘O people, spread the salutations, feed the people, keep the ties of kinship, and pray during the night while the others sleep, and you will enter Paradise in peace.’”
Salman Al-Farsi quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as saying:
“Observe the night Prayer; it was the practice of the righteous before you and it brings you closer to your Lord and it is penance for evil deeds and erases the sins and repels disease from the body.”
So how's ASPS supposed to be a disorder again?

Why tuck his shirt?!

“I said tuck your shirt in!”
“I don’t want to sir!”
“Well, stand on the chair then! And I’ll deduct 5 marks for this bad behavior.”
Why? No seriously.. Why? You’re a muslim teacher!!
What’s a ‘awrah?
The word “'awrah” denotes those parts of the body which Islam requires to be covered in front of others whether of the same or the opposite gender.
Okay let me start with a ground rule.. & that being men’s ‘awrah (what men are supposed to cover).. What’s a man’s ‘awrah?
The Prophet (sallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said,
“A man should not look at the awrah of another man, nor a woman of a woman, nor should a man go under one cloth with another man, nor a woman with another woman.”
(Muslim, Abu Dawud, and At-Tirmidhi).
The 'awrah of a man referred to in this hadeeth is from his naval to his knee
Now you’ll tell me, well, sister sara, there are some sayings of the prophet that show that we can even show a little above the knees.. Well, brothers, I don’t know what you feel self conscience about & yeah, I did read the hadith where it said that the prophet salla Allahu alaihy wasalam patted on his companion’s thigh to remind him to get ready for prayer.. However, why not cover? It’s better.. For you & for us.. I always knew that arabs used to wear different things on their heads out of honor of being an arab! What happened to that! As for me, I’m so uncomfortable seeing a man wearing tight clothes!
Besides, brothers, by tucking your shirts in your pants, it’s not exactly covering your ‘awrah! Men wear tight pants & tight shirts nowadays.. Or very exceedingly baggy pants that drag after them on the floor & show a part of their ‘awrah!

Allah's Apostle peace & blessings be upon him said,
“Allah will not look at the person who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit.”
I come from a culture where it’s believed that the man who tucks his shirt in his pants with a tie on top, is very “classy“.. I wonder where these principles came from!! It really saddens my heart seeing guys loose their ‘hayaa.. And I never found a word that covered haya’s meaning.. Modesty or bashfulness doesn’t do it for me!
Prophet Muhammad sallah Allahu alaihy wasalam said:
"He who is shy of Allah, Allah Taala is also shy of him."
Thus the shyness between Allah and his servant, is the shyness of honor, generosity and sublimity, because Allah the Almighty is shy to refuse his servant when he raises his hands in supplication.
"Tell the believing men that they should lower their gazes and guard their private parts; that is purer for them. Indeed Allah is well-acquainted with what they do"
Qur’an (24:30).

Giddo :)

I remember how stunning the world seemed seeing it while sitting on his shoulders, playing with his half bald head..
I remember how safe it felt when he’d hold my tiny little hand so mildly & so firmly..
I remember how fun it was jumping and flipping on the trampoline while he’d watch me smiling and never asking me to stop..
I recall how strong he was carrying all those plastic bags containing all different types of fresh groceries.. Milk, meat, fruits, and so forth.. He’d carry them ALL with one hand and hold me with the other..
But nothing ever stays the same.. Ever!! He grows older.. And his heart gets bigger.. But not strong enough to take it all.. So he undergoes an open heart surgery.. And then.. FORGETS.. Gets moments of unbalance.. Up And down.. A day he’d tell me about all different details.. About how unfair presidents of the world are, how indifferent Muslims have become.. The next he won’t remember!! “What are these over there on the table sara?” “They’re pears giddo” “what do we do with them?”.. A couple of days ago I explained to him about the internet.. About blogging and what not.. I told him “why don’t you start writing anything, & I’ll translate it and post it for you.. You have a great experience in life and it would help many others see better..” Guess what he said? He went like: “how about we make a blog where we collect money for the poor and needy people I know?” I told him “grandpa, no one would trust us, why would someone give money to people they don’t know, they would go to big organizations like the red crescent..” he got upset: “I never fooled anyone, why would they think that?!”.. Oh grandpa, I wish everyone was like you.. Nothing ever stays the same.. You won’t stay that good-looking.. You won’t carry on this powerful.. You won’t be this you forever.. You will change.. Have a good heart, ‘cuz that’s what you’re taking with you.. Even if it doesn’t pump blood as strong as it used to, it’ll definitely pump the love it took along for years.. May Allah,The Subtle One, The Benevolent, The Loving One purify our hearts, and cleanse them from any atom’s weight of pride.. Amen.
PS. plz pray for him.. May Allah bless him with a happy ending.. Amen. And pray for my other grandpa who's hopefully in heaven now.. Pray for all the dead.. And ask Allah to bless you with kids, or good people who pray for you after you pass away.. Or good deeds that continue & multiply forever.. Or invent something good (sunna hasana) that would be there for you on the day where you'd be.. Be pleased insha'Allah..

Sour reality!

Wherever I lay my eyes I see awful things.. Very unpleasant stuff.. Is it me? Am I looking at the glass half empty? I’m angry.. Well, I have the right to! It’s an anger for Allah’s sake.. Prophet Muhammad peace & blessings be upon said:
“Whoever loves for Allah's sake, hates for Allah's sake, gives for Allah’s sake and withholds for God's sake has a perfect faith.”
(Abu Dawud)
Oh Allah grant us the perfect faith.. Amen.
Prophet Muhammad peace & blessings be upon him said:
"He who amongst you sees something evil should change it with his hand; and if he is unable he should change it with his tongue; and if he is unable to do that he should at least hate it in his heart, and that is the weakest form of faith"
(Reported in Saheeh Muslim)
I tried.. I did.. I stopped her and told her.. She wouldn’t listen.. No she actually did stop to hear me out, but somehow didn’t seem to.. She didn’t want to.. Told her, they’ll eat you with their eyes.. She didn’t mind!! Told her it ain’t right.. But, but but.. 2000000 buts she gave me!! And on the other hand, what good will you gain by looking at her brother?! It won’t do you any good.. All it’ll cause is evil.. Nothing tastes as good as a sweet faith!! Why not try that?! Let’s give it a shot..
Prophet Muhammad peace & blessings be upon him said:
“There are three qualities whosoever has them will taste the sweetness of Iman: loving Allah and His Messenger above all else, loving someone solely for the sake of Allah, and hating to return to disbelief after Allah has rescued him from it, as much as he would hate being thrown into Hellfire.”
(Sahih Bukhari)
It ain’t that simple.. Not a piece of cake.. But yet in our capability.. I’ll never forget that day I heard this ayah:
“Proclaim: "If your parents, your children, your siblings, your spouses, your family, the money you have earned, a business you worry about, and the homes you cherish are more beloved to you than GOD and His messenger, and the striving in His cause, then just wait until GOD brings His judgment." GOD does not guide the wicked people.
Qur’an [9:24]
Allah considers those who love these things – taking into consideration that none of them is forbidden by him - more than they love Allah and the Prophet are rebellious and disobedient. Can you believe it?
Omar Ibnul-Khattab says that while he and some of the Prophet’s companions were walking, he (Omar) found himself saying, “By Allah, messenger of Allah, I love you”. The Prophet then asked Omar “More than your children, Omar?” and Omar said “Yes” and the Prophet asked “More than your whole family, Omar?” and Omar said “Yes”, then “More than your money, Omar?” and Omar answered “Yes” and finally “More than yourself, Omar” and Omar said “No”.
As you can see Omar was honest and truthful in all the answers he gave. The Prophet then told Omar, “No Omar - your faith is not complete until you hold me dearer than yourself”. Omar said, “I went out and thought about it and then I came back and cried it out loud, “By Allah! Messenger of Allah! I love you more than I love myself” and the Prophet answered “It is now Omar”.
He meant by that, your faith is now complete.
Abdullah Ibn Omar (the son of Omar) asked his father, “How did you do that father? You went out for just minutes and then came back” (was it a button you pressed to change how you felt?). Omar said, “O son, I went out and asked myself who I would need more on the Day of Judgment: me or the Prophet (PBUH)?” I knew then that my need for him was greater than my need for myself. I remembered how I was on the sirat (the straight path that leads to either hell or heaven) and he saved me. Allah saved me because of him. So I loved him more than I loved myself.” Abdullah then asked his father, “O father if you were to forget everything about the Prophet (PBUH) what is the one thing that you would never forget?” Omar said, “I will never forget the day I went to him saying, “Grant me permission to go to Umrah (small pilgrimage) messenger of Allah.” So he said, “Do not forget me brother when you pray to Allah”. Abdullah said, “I will never forget this word ever”.
Please try to remember me in your prayers.. Remember our ummah.. Remember all human beings.. Praying is the key..

Ruh alby!

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“The creation of each one of you is brought in the womb of his mother for forty days as a germ cell. Then for a similar period, he is an embryonic lump (hanging like a leech, known as `alaqah in Arabic). For another forty days, he is a mudghah (like a chewed-up substance: shape of a four-week-old embryo); then an angel is sent and he (the angel) blows in him the ruh (soul). After this, the angel is ordered to write down four words. He is told to write down the child's [future] livelihood, his life duration, and whether he is to be miserable or happy.”
Hadith (Al-Bukhari )

Let me introduce to you my 75 days old cousin.. Now this teensy weensy cousin (fetus) you see doesn’t have a soul yet; as the four lunar months of conception aren’t over.. But there is a heart pumping! So that means that the soul doesn’t live in the heart, does it? Qur'an plainly states that the ruh (soul) is a divine issue whose secret is known only by God.
“And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little.”
Qur’an [17:85]
“Then He fashioned him and breathed into him from His ruh; and He gave you (the faculties) of hearing, sight, and feeling. Little thanks you give.”
Qur’an [32:9]
So when mama says ‘ya ruh alb mama’ (oh soul of mama's heart), she’s fooling me?! ;)
However, I love it when she says that!
"O people, if you have any doubt about resurrection, (remember that) we created you from dust, and subsequently from a tiny drop, which turns into a hanging (embryo), then it becomes a fetus that is given life or deemed lifeless. We thus clarify things for you. We settle in the wombs whatever we will for a predetermined period. We then bring you out as infants, then you reach maturity. While some of you die young, others live to the worst age, only to find out that no more knowledge can be attained beyond a certain limit. Also, you look at a land that is dead, then as soon as we shower it with water, it vibrates with life and grows all kinds of beautiful plants."
Qur’an [22:5]
"God is the One who fashioned you from a single person and from that (person) created his wife, and He made for you from the cattle, eight pairs. He fashions you inside the bodies of your mothers, formation after formation, in three (veils) of darkness. This is your God, your Lord, His is the Dominion, there is no god but He, so how are you turned away."
Qur'an [39:6]
According to Prof. Keith Moore these three veils of darkness in the Qur'an refer to:
(i) anterior abdominal wall of the mother
(ii) the uterine wall
(iii) the amnio-chronic membrane.
I don't know if there is any other explaination to these three veils of darkness?!
"Read, in the name of your Lord, who created. He created man from an embryo."
Qur’an [96:1-2]
We gotta read people.. read.. observe.. learn.. Read in the name of our Lord!
Anyhow, I'd like to take this opportunity & tell you little cousin before you get your soul (God be willing): You have only ONE Master! Only One God.. So ask Him.. Ask Him & turn to Him.. With Him you'll succeed.. Trust me.. He's closer to you than your veins!
"We created the human, and we know what he whispers to himself. We are closer to him than his jugular vein."
Qur'an [50:16]
And always bear in heart & mind that:
Say, "My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe.
Qur’an [6:162]
"They avoid gross sins and transgressions, except for minor offenses. Your Lord's forgiveness is immense. He has been fully aware of you since He initiated you from the earth, and while you were embryos in your mothers' bellies. Therefore, do not exalt yourselves; He is fully aware of the righteous."
Qur’an [53:32]
I know you can't hear me, but you're there.. Can't say you're 'out there' though!! 'cuz you're simply 'in there' :) Dunno what to sense..I’m so overwhelmed.. Its magnificent.. Beautiful.. Scary.. Sweet.. Complicated.. And most of all, in God’s Hands!
Here is the ayah I think God sent down to me.. I feel it everyday!
"GOD never burdens a soul beyond its means: to its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. "Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make mistakes. Our Lord, and protect us from blaspheming against You, like those before us have done. Our Lord, protect us from sinning until it becomes too late for us to repent. Pardon us and forgive us. You are our Lord and Master. Grant us victory over the disbelieving people." "
Qur'an [2:286]
Oh, one last thing, if I ever call you "ruh alby" don't you dare act smart on me! I love the phrase!
