Ruh alby!

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“The creation of each one of you is brought in the womb of his mother for forty days as a germ cell. Then for a similar period, he is an embryonic lump (hanging like a leech, known as `alaqah in Arabic). For another forty days, he is a mudghah (like a chewed-up substance: shape of a four-week-old embryo); then an angel is sent and he (the angel) blows in him the ruh (soul). After this, the angel is ordered to write down four words. He is told to write down the child's [future] livelihood, his life duration, and whether he is to be miserable or happy.”
Hadith (Al-Bukhari )

Let me introduce to you my 75 days old cousin.. Now this teensy weensy cousin (fetus) you see doesn’t have a soul yet; as the four lunar months of conception aren’t over.. But there is a heart pumping! So that means that the soul doesn’t live in the heart, does it? Qur'an plainly states that the ruh (soul) is a divine issue whose secret is known only by God.
“And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little.”
Qur’an [17:85]
“Then He fashioned him and breathed into him from His ruh; and He gave you (the faculties) of hearing, sight, and feeling. Little thanks you give.”
Qur’an [32:9]
So when mama says ‘ya ruh alb mama’ (oh soul of mama's heart), she’s fooling me?! ;)
However, I love it when she says that!
"O people, if you have any doubt about resurrection, (remember that) we created you from dust, and subsequently from a tiny drop, which turns into a hanging (embryo), then it becomes a fetus that is given life or deemed lifeless. We thus clarify things for you. We settle in the wombs whatever we will for a predetermined period. We then bring you out as infants, then you reach maturity. While some of you die young, others live to the worst age, only to find out that no more knowledge can be attained beyond a certain limit. Also, you look at a land that is dead, then as soon as we shower it with water, it vibrates with life and grows all kinds of beautiful plants."
Qur’an [22:5]
"God is the One who fashioned you from a single person and from that (person) created his wife, and He made for you from the cattle, eight pairs. He fashions you inside the bodies of your mothers, formation after formation, in three (veils) of darkness. This is your God, your Lord, His is the Dominion, there is no god but He, so how are you turned away."
Qur'an [39:6]
According to Prof. Keith Moore these three veils of darkness in the Qur'an refer to:
(i) anterior abdominal wall of the mother
(ii) the uterine wall
(iii) the amnio-chronic membrane.
I don't know if there is any other explaination to these three veils of darkness?!
"Read, in the name of your Lord, who created. He created man from an embryo."
Qur’an [96:1-2]
We gotta read people.. read.. observe.. learn.. Read in the name of our Lord!
Anyhow, I'd like to take this opportunity & tell you little cousin before you get your soul (God be willing): You have only ONE Master! Only One God.. So ask Him.. Ask Him & turn to Him.. With Him you'll succeed.. Trust me.. He's closer to you than your veins!
"We created the human, and we know what he whispers to himself. We are closer to him than his jugular vein."
Qur'an [50:16]
And always bear in heart & mind that:
And:
Say, "My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe.
Qur’an [6:162]
"They avoid gross sins and transgressions, except for minor offenses. Your Lord's forgiveness is immense. He has been fully aware of you since He initiated you from the earth, and while you were embryos in your mothers' bellies. Therefore, do not exalt yourselves; He is fully aware of the righteous."
Qur’an [53:32]
I know you can't hear me, but you're there.. Can't say you're 'out there' though!! 'cuz you're simply 'in there' :) Dunno what to sense..I’m so overwhelmed.. Its magnificent.. Beautiful.. Scary.. Sweet.. Complicated.. And most of all, in God’s Hands!
Here is the ayah I think God sent down to me.. I feel it everyday!
"GOD never burdens a soul beyond its means: to its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. "Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make mistakes. Our Lord, and protect us from blaspheming against You, like those before us have done. Our Lord, protect us from sinning until it becomes too late for us to repent. Pardon us and forgive us. You are our Lord and Master. Grant us victory over the disbelieving people." "
Qur'an [2:286]
Oh, one last thing, if I ever call you "ruh alby" don't you dare act smart on me! I love the phrase!
:)
