AS GOOD AS IT GETS... (Don't be pessimistic!)

"I have never lied to you; I have always told you some version of the truth.

"The truth doesn't have versions, okay?

Well, there's no such thing as "for sure". That's the only sure thing I do know. REALLY, AFTER LIVING FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS, I REALIZED THAT IT'S SOOOOO HARD TO BE SURE ABOUT ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY HUMANS AROUND ME...

WHY IS IT SOOOOOO EASY FOR HUMANS TO DELUDE, BUT SO HARD TO BE HONEST?!
IT DOESN'T HARM BEING WHAT WE ARE, AND MAKING THAT BETTER, BY LEANING ON EACH OTHER WITH TENDERNESS... WE DO NOT, AND I SAY DOOOOO NOOOOOOOOT NEED TO BE FAKE!

"PEOPLE" drown, and "OTHERS" describe the water!

Would love it if there is a person on the face of the earth that knows that someone else is the greatest person on earth, and might be the only one who appreciates how amazing they are in "every single thing" that they do, and in every single thought they have, and how they say what they mean, and how they almost always mean something that's all about being straight and good.

I think most people miss that, and I watch them, wondering how they can become better, and never get that they need to meet another great living being to become better. And the fact that I get it makes me feel good, about me. YES, PRAISE THE LORD FOR KNOWING THIS! APPRECIATING IT IS ENOUGH FOR ME, "LI'L PRINCESS SARA". YEAH...

" I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't your father ever tell you that? Didn't he? "

When I was young

I could run

and work and play

all day

everyday.

Even sleep had a purpose.

I'd sleep

to awake, not to escape from life.

Fresh and alive,

determination marking any effort

Now sleep overcomes me

more often than before

but in dreams

I live

remember and plan,

working within my heart and mind.

My spirit wants to run

but my body can't keep up

Patience now marks my effort

Bending low

to teach the young

passing on what I know

what I've felt

what I've done,

so my life won't be a wasted one.
